About Us

The Tweed Heads Bowls Club was founded in 1921 by a group of dedicated people with a pioneering spirit who wanted to build a firm foundation for future progress.

Originally, Tweed Heads Bowls Club was built on the banks of the beautiful Tweed River directly under Point Danger in a modest clubhouse. In 1975, a new clubhouse was built on land purchased by the Clubs forefathers on Greenbank Island, not far from the original site.

Our club is centrally located, situated a few hundred metres from the New South Wales and Queensland border on the southern end of the Gold Coast, adjacent to the beautiful Tweed waterways, the Southern Cross University campus and the Tweed Hospital.

Our club features a world-renowned international indoor bowling facility and four world class outdoor greens. Other unique features of the club are its’ in-house butchery and bakery, a testament to its dedication and reputation as a great place to dine. The friendliness and commitment to customer service provided by our staff is second to none.

Now, our club is home to over 600 Bowling members and 20,000 Social members. Every day the doors are open, our greens are full of keen bowlers enjoying our wonderful sport.

Our Club is always buzzing with bowls activity, roll ups, social bowls, club championships and plenty of major bowls events. Every year we host the famous Golden Nugget, Junior Nugget, Australian Indoor Championships and the Greg Kelly Open Fours. If you are a complete newcomer to lawn bowls, looking for a sporting activity that promises fun and enjoyment with a competitive element, then the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of Tweed Heads Bowls Club will be the place to be.
